Machines, thread, and fabric, oh my!!

So I'm still fairly new to sewing (I've been sewing off and on for a few years) but I'm just now doing it more and more. And since I moved to VA, I've lost access to my mom's wonderful sewing machine. So I'm on the prowl for a machine. And I've fallen in love

It's the Janome DC2011. And it's beautiful. You can find out more about it here. I tried it out in a store a few days ago and it just ran like a dream. I was trying to stay away from computerized machines, but the ease of use, and the fact that it can do layers of denim and satin, just did it in for me. And to top it all off, it's pink. What can I say? My heart has been stolen.

Hello world! Here I am the first post on my blog. I've never done this before so bear with me as I learn all about blogging.

This blog will be all about my crafting adventures in sewing, card making, scrapbooking, and just general mess-making.

But I'll leave this post short and sweet so I can spend my time making the blog pretty. (and maybe convince my awesome bf to make my logo for me).
